I have been to Gartells many times and it’s always a fun day. Only a short track but it’s great to be on a train pulled by a proper steam train, tbf the little diesel is fun too. Wholesome, simple food and a great place...More

Had a lovely day out and three trains running with two steam and a diesel, fully signalled with two working signal boxes, the restaurant had great food and the staff were very friendly.

We visited this little railway on a lovely late summers day, and thoroughly enjoyed the couple of hours we spent there. The line itself is quite short, and the trains little, but it is none the worse for that. Our daughter loved the little trains,...More

We have taken 100 Reception children to Gartell light railway for the past 2 years. The Gentelmen running the attraction were brilliant and the children all had a super day out. I would highly recommend this!

Short but delightful ride on a narrow gauge train along a section of the Somerset and Dorset Railway. Tickets valid all day, so we travelled behind Diesel then a steam loco later. Great cafeteria serving a limited but quite adequate menu of coffees, etc, and...More
