The car park for Marquess of Anglesey's column is much harder to find than the Column itself, but when you find it (a field with a gate), you will be rewarded with a 10 minute walk through some pretty woods, then up some steps to...More

We saw this monument today from the road and decided to stop and climb through the woods, as signposted, towards the monument, only to discover it was closed off. The café was derelict, the gate was locked! Not wanting to be thwarted by our efforts...More

I seem to be missing something but I didn’t enjoy this at all, thought it was really boring! Sorry. Wouldn’t make a special trip for this.

The Column is situated close to the road as you leave the home of the late Marquess. It is a very impressive sight as is its location overlooking the Menai Strait. Best to be visited in good weather

Visible from the queue of traffic leaving the National Trust property Plas Newydd. Looks a bit like Nelson's Column from a distance.

I read about this on the town website and was devastated to find it closed. Not only can you no longer climb it but you can't even get to the base of it. A real shame.

Tried to get close to this monument today but no sign posts anywhere. Why? Surely this is an historic attraction and worthy of decent upkeep and signage.

We went up to the top on a blustery day a couple of years ago - you need a head for heights and to have sure footing. The views were fantastic. However, the column is now closed!

I went to the top of this a few years ago, although its no longer accessable it still is worth a look if you are on Anglesey. I have since been just to look at it.
