I served in the Marine Corps in the 1950’s. We have lived in The Villages, Florida for 18 years, and have seen growth unprecedented for any city in the US. It would take numerous pages to describe the lifestyle in The Villages, so I’ll just...More
A wonderful center to take friends to especially if they or their family are veterans. It is like a very well done museum. Most displays have been donated by Villagers that have served. There are several paintings and personal affects donated by the family of...More
We took our British friends to see this teriffic Village's memorial. Each room is filled with history. Veterans and family members have donated precious photos and momentos of their loved ones from many wars. It is so well done and enthralling that we spent a...More
Knowing we weren’t members or guests of the Villages, we went anyway to see what sounded like an Exhibit about Eisenhower, minus the “Rec Center” part. Found out that very little of it is about the 34th President. Most displays are donated by families of...More

Eisenhower Rec is open 7am to 10pm. Everything is always on display, it is part of the decor of the Recreation Center. The classes and clubs that meet in the center are open to Villagers and their guests only, but the center itself is open to the public. The tricky part is if a group is using a room you won't be able to see what's in that room.
You can look at the calendar of events the day you are coming and see what will be at the Eisenhower beware that sometimes it is not completely up to date.
The PDF of the weekly activities is usually more up to date, you can look at Eisenhower indoor activities and try to avoid a time where many rooms are occupied. Assume most classes reserve the room a half hour before and the class is 1-2 hours after. Don't drive yourself crazy though, because sometimes a room gets reserved without much warning. If you'll be staying in The Villages you can always go back and see what you missed after lunch or the next day, etc.
I tried to link you the PDF and the website for the calendar of events, but TripAdvisor won't let me. Google calendar of events the villages fl.
