Enjoy a day of sailing, snorkeling, beachcombing, and relaxing on the beautiful waters near Harbour Island. Eventide is a classic CSY 44 sloop, available for day sails in the protected sound behind Harbour Island, Eleuthera. She comfortably accommodates up to 12 passengers and crew. Capt. Bob Knaus has chartered his sailboat in the Bahamas since 2003. Your comfort and safety are his chief concerns. His first mate Lucky is mostly interested in snacks... but he is a handsome dog!

We had great communication with Captain Bob leading up to our day on the water. His emails were quick and full of information. He picked us up right at our rental home. We hit a little rain on the way to Man Island, but it wasn't heavy or bad. However, just as we settled on Man Island and Bob got back to the boat things changed dramatically and the weather took a vicious turn. Bob quickly returned to get us in the dingy and rushed us back to safety in the boat. The storm came out of nowhere (as was confirmed by many others who talked about it later in our stay on the island). I felt confident Bob had checked the weather and had no idea what was going to happen. His primary concern was our safety. The storm lasted a long time and we sat below deck eating and drinking from our cooler as we waited it out. He said he has not seen anything like this is years and I believe it.
Bob provides water and pop, chips, granola bars, snorkel equipment and even had extra towels. The boat also has a bathroom. Bob was very helpful with our cooler and went back to the island to get my lost sunglasses. Other tours do NOT provide these things and are not as helpful with your gear as Bob was. Even though we didn't get to enjoy Man Island that day we did enjoy our sail and conversing with Bob. He has lots of local knowledge and we really enjoyed our time. I also write this to say that I know firsthand that Bob takes safety seriously and you are in good hands with him. It was certainly an adventure for all of us!!

I've chartered sail boats for multiple weeks and single days in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean so I know what I'm looking for and have a pretty high standard. Bob and Eleuthera Sailing Adventures 100% delivered. Bob was quickly responsive over email and knew how to address my group's particular questions/needs (bringing four young kids 9,6,3,1 year-olds). He was on time at the Valentine's Marina dock, didn't mind dinghy-ing a sleeping baby in a stroller, (kid slept through transfer into the cockpit!), and was great with all the kids and the adults. Got two great sails in, swam off the boat, and had a couple of hours to snorkel (he had really great, clean equipment for all sizes) at a near empty beach on Man Island. He kept our beers cold, provided much needed backup sunscreen, and kept the day moving well while being very attentive to everyone's wants and needs. Book a trip with Captain Bob - you will not regret it; we hope to again next year!

Bob was an amazing host! He is a part of the fabric of Harbour Island. He knows the water, the land, and the people.
We had a wonderful sunset cruise on his beautiful boat. Two couples enjoyed lounging on the bow of the sail boat.
We sailed around the island, enjoyed the sights, savored a couple of bottles of Champagne, toasted sunset while Bob took our pics.
It was a perfect end to our perfect trip!

There were three of us on a quick trip to Harbour Island celebrating a birthday and we were fortunate enough to be able to go on a sailing trip on Eventide with Bob and Lucky. Bob was great communicating with us all the way up to the day of our trip to let us know the weather etc
We had a great time and Bob was friendly and answered all our questions.
His dog Lucky joined us and we all loved him. He really is a lucky dog.
We would all highly recommend going sailing with Bob!!

We chartered for a day with the family - 10 of us, including kids age 5 to10. We had a fantastic day with a captain who knew the local water and obviously loved to sail. He was great with the kids, letting them crew. I have recommended him multiple times.

What a pleasure it was to spend the day with Captain Bob, Lucky and my 3 friends. Captain Bob was full of great info about the area he took us to - Man Island - and even took us on a nice nature walk to the other side of the location to break up the day. Lucky is awesome and a super-sweet pup. Captain Bob provided snorkeling gear and advised us where to swim out to and what to look for. It was a super day, and I will definitely go out with Bob and Lucky again on my next visit to Eleuthera. I highly recommend you do, too!

We had a great day sailing with Bob. He clearly knows what the is doing as a captain, and also has a lot of great information and insights to share about the area and its history. Bob also communicated with us very well in advance of the trip.
The beach that Bob took us too was beautiful, and the sailboat was lovely and a perfect way to enjoy the area. See our drone photos for shots of the sailboat and the beautiful spot that you will visit!

Captain Bob is a skilled sailor and knows how to organize a great day of exploration in the Eleuthera area. I arranged a sail excursion for a group and they had an amazing time. Highly recommend.

We spent a day sailing and exploring and snorkeling Eluthera. We were staying on Harbor Island Bob picked us up at Valentines Harbor. The weather had been a little on and off with rain and wind, but we got a great day. The Eventide is a beauty, we brought along our own lunch and our traditional celebratory rum punch for after snorkeling. We saw loads of tropical fish and turtles. We explored the far end of Eluthera and saw the airhouse, a deep lagoon, giant cliffs with crashing waves and a natural pool. Bob is an absolute fund of knowledge! We can't wait to go back next year we will be sailing again with Bob for sure !

My wife and I booked with Captain Bob about 5 or 6 months in advance for our June sailing trip. He stayed in contact from time to time as he planned for us to join up with another couple since there was just the two of us. He was great about communicating and the trip was everything as expected. Had a pretty good storm on the way back to harbor island and he did an awesome job navigating. It was a safe, fun, and educational trip. Captain Bob is great to talk with about the islands, fishing, and the floral. He is super friendly. You won't be disappointed...

Most of the sails are for groups who book the boat for themselves. Occasionally I do shared sails for smaller groups, to make up the 4 person minimum. It's $125/pp. Email me at the link here, or from my web site, for details. Thanks!
