Its so nice to see around. Its well maintained no body can think its so old. Its believed before it was Sultan Qaboos fort which was converted. All the items kept there have information on the boards but we didnt get time to read through all. It was very nice experience only thing the parking need to be managed though.

It is said that this was once the fort of Sultan which was later converted to a Museum. This is well maintained and a must see place for every person stepping into Muscat. Parking to be managed though

We had a very patient guide and an interesting time. You could spend less time and still enjoy a summary of Omani history

when you arrive you are assigned a soldier who acts as your guide, he doesn't guide, he just moves you on from room to room, We were enjoying reading the info boards in most of the rooms when we were informed that we had 10 min left to see 3/4 of the remainder of the museum. Unbeknown to us you... More

Great complex with the Sultan's palace, Al-Jalali Fort and Al-Mirani Fort and 2 museums. The French-Omani museum is not known between the locals so don't trust your guide to show it to you. Unfortunately the museums were closed during Eid holidays. It leaves you with an outdoor visit of the palace and colonnade. The seaside is unacceptable because it's private... More

If you are looking for a good history to Oman this is the place to visit. Guided around by a member of the Omani Armed forces there is a lot of information here, all housed in the old fort. Ground floor is Omani history upstairs more military history. Lots of artefacts, but mainly behind glass. Quite an old fashioned museum,... More

The sultan's armed forces museum was one of the unique and special museum I have seen till date. It involves history of Oman and it's armed forces with demonstration of different arms including the guns, tanks, fighter jets, armed vehicles, frigates and warships. The ambiance and maintenance is extremely satisfactory. It's definitely worth visiting if u r in Muscat.
