I approached the pass from Dingle heading North. At the apex, I noticed that the road narrowed to one lane. Then I noticed that it disappeared on a curve about a quarter of a mile downhill. Then I saw a van coming up the hill...More

So we took the Conor Pass by accident! Apparently our GPS thought this would be the best way to get us from Galway to Dingle. I was quite scared, you are literally driving on the edge of a cliff, the highest in Ireland, however, if...More

Coming from the north it looks quite harmless. Until you reach the sign: turn back when driving a van or caravanette or even bigger vehicles. And this sign is right. No space to pass oncoming trafic. Be prepared to reverse dozens of meters. Many rearview...More

A picturesque drive with several areas to get out for photos if you want to. They do sneak up pretty quickly so watch for the signs.

After reading some of the reviews, I was worried about driving through the pass. It's not as bad as some people say. We went from Dingle to Tralee. From the carpark at the top, you can see cars coming up in the opposite direction and...More

I rode up this on a motorbike in the direction towards Dingle. The R560 takes you up the highest pass in Ireland. The approach from Castlegregory takes you up the steeper side. This approach is stunning, although narrow in places with passing places the road...More

The views from the Conor pass are truly spectacular but beware - if you go on a wet or foggy day (and there are lots of these on the Dingle Peninsula - then you are not going to see a whole lot. On the other...More

If you’ve driven any kind of mountain road the drive up from Dingle is easy enough and well worth the views given clear weather. You can’t miss the parking lot at the summit. Going down the backside towards Tralee was fine for us as well,...More

There's nothing like the Rocky Mountains in Ireland but this is fantastic for sweeping views of the island and the thrill of tiny roads.

Very good both ways. Conor Pass is just a few miles outside of Dingle so it's often better to take the "good roads" to Dingle and the go up the Pass, down the other side, and then turn around and go back to Dingle. You can... More
