Toured Slea Head enjoying beautiful sites and ancient ones like Gallerus Oratory. In June the fuchsia which grows wild was in bloom everywhere. No wonder it's the county flower of Kerry

We took this drive on recommendations from our B&B owners and online people. We bought the Rick Steve’s book and did the trip meter with the drive. He was spot on and what a beautiful drive. It was an overcast day and started raining when...More

This must be the most dramatic drive on the entire Wild Atlantic Way. It should be taken in clockwise direction from Dingle, via Ventry, both for best views and because of coach traffic on narrow roads. The first section to Slea Head, on a clear...More

Don't miss the drive along the Atlantic to Dingle. Both the gorgeous drive along the ocean and the quaint town of Dingle are must see when in Ireland. You won't be disappointed. It's a shorter ride than Ring of Kerry and less crowded, yet still...More

What a beautiful place the Dingle peninsula is! I would allow a full day for the drive down from Killarney. Dingle town is charming and a good place for lunch. On the Slea Head drive, plan on stopping to check out some of the little...More

If you are comparing the Ring of Kerry with the Dingle Peninsula, this is one part of the drive that should tip your decision Dingle's way. The Slea Head Drive is purportedly the furthest west you can go in Ireland. It's probably the furthest west...More

The Slea Head Drive takes you west of Dingle to the end of the Dingle Peninsula. This is an area of great beauty as well as an area of archaeological history. At the end of the Dingle Peninsula are the Blasket Islands, through which many...More

We spent a day driving the Slea Head Drive. Locals told us it was not as "touristy" as the Ring of Kerry and even more beautiful. We didn't have time to see the R of K, so I can't compare, but we absolutely loved the...More

We stopped near Ventry at the Relics of 1845 Famine and then the Prehistoric Beehive Hut Fahan Group. Great sea views, cool buildings and grazing animals add to the experience. Head to the Great Blasket Centre. It is a... More

It is basically a big loop leaving from and returning to Dingle. You need to give yourself a minimum of 4-5 hours to do it justice.
