It remains one of the best Alp passes, even if some obtuse administrator covered all the road with asphalt (years ago, it was fully gravel) and it lost a lot of attractivity. At my age, it is a little bit scary due to lack of side protection and cars crossing quite fast.

Another pass with beautiful views and lots of tight curves, switchbacks, steep slopes to make it an exhilarating ride on a motorcycle. At some places it is very narrow with steep drop offs and no barrier which could be intimidating. At the top of the pass is a glacier and a picturesque little lake. Definitely worth doing.

THIS is another place my husband cycled to and again so glad he was able to show me. Some ppl only get to see the cities of Italy but Italy is so much more than just the glitz and glamour of the large cities. Well worth the drive up, roads are in good repair!

We went over this pass after doing some duty free shopping in Livigno. This is the pass that the Trinino Rosso goes over. It is interesting to drive down into Tirano watching the Red Train either ahead of you or behind you. Quite literally there are places where the train and the car share the same road. The trip is... With the good weather, you see every top of the parco dello Stelvio. Fantastic climb to do. Story and heroes.

The roads are very narrow and bad paved. They are bumpy and have holes and other things. But this is the way to go down to the south.

This road have been chosen one of the most dangerous road in the world. And this is nice. We drive it with muscle car, and some narrow palces is... Narrow. Just take your time, and drive slowly and enjoy. This is better than stelvio!

Definitely not a place for the faint hearted. Not many places for opposing traffic to pass. Very busy in August with cars, motorbikes, cyclist and an angry scooter rider to boot.
