We took the cable car down hill as part of the Alta Via 2 and I was thoroughly grateful for it. The views from the top are spectacular (and the toilets are amazing) and the cable car itself makes the area very accessible.

Very easy -- parking across the street, takes credit cards, and leaves every 10 minutes. 6 minute ride to the top, where views are awesome and there are many trails to explore. Can also get a beer at the top or at nearby refugios!
