I was lucky enough to spot the other tripadvisor reviews, so hopped on the bus up from Caserta for a couple of hours strolling around this lovely little village - narrow cobbled streets. So quiet and a refreshing lack of graffiti. Great views over the...More

Casertavecchia is a quiet, medieval town with small stone streets, pizzerias, and cafes surrounded by ruined walls and with spectacular mountaintop views. Its hard to imagine a more romantic place to spend a few hours.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this little village perched on the hill above Caserta. There was no rubbish or graffiti which was a pleasant surprise for this part of Italy which is generally littered with garbage. There are lots of nice little restaurants and...More

We spent some time exploring Casertavecchia, and it was a nice experience. Because it's on a hill, the views are spectacular. It's a quaint town with cobblestone streets and lots of flowers and many restaurants. Worth a visit if you have an hour or so.

Beautiful with a nice drive and great view of Mt. Vesuvius. Several restaurants to choose from with a beautiful view. Doesn't take very long to get through, but it would be a nice Sunday day trip to end your weekend.

close to Caserta on the mountain above - a beautiful village - the buildings and the alleys are few hundreds year old- plenty of flowers and many bars to sit for a coffee or a lunch break- an aerial view of Caserta

Incredible experience, a medieval city atop of the mountains. Nice view of the valley and good small typical restaurants.

The small medieval village high in the hills northeast of the ugly town of Caserta is a nice escape after an overdose of royal glamour at the Reggia palace. It was good to see that they renovate more and more at the royal palace –...More

It is not the same place as caserta. Arguably it is not the same city. Casertavecchia is in the outskirts of caserta. On a mountain-top overlooking caserta and even the sea in the west. It was a cloudy day off-season (october) and everything in this...More
