I recently went here with my wife. I am a history buff so this was a really cool experience. It was fun walking in the trenches and seeing a few look out points and exhibits.

When arriving with the chairlift ar 5 Torri you can hike around the 5 Torri and can include the Museo all'Aperto. Gives you a great imprssion what happened during 1915-1918 in that area.

The dolomites are truly breathtaking in the snow as the light turns the rock pink to red over the course of the day. Cortina is an ideal place to stay as a very upmarket resort with excellent restaurants and cosy small family wine bars of...More

This was a very interesting visit. We walked up to the museum rather than took the cable car. We went to do the Via Ferrata and were not disappointed. I recommend this if you want a taste of history, if you want to climb as...More

Worth visiting with very informative boards about the life and history of the mountain "warriors" Can get a bit lost if you do not know the "main road " that brings up or down in the valley.

Nice hiking through an outdoor museum of WWI. There are gun emplacements, trenches and informational story boards over a 3km ? loop near Rufigio 5 Torri and Rifugio Scoiattoli. You can take the chairlift up or choose from several walking tracks to access this area.

Well worth a visit....and do walk up there! The information boards really help to create a scene fro WW1. In interesting history for the Italian / Austro-Hungarian front lines.

Yes there is a great taxi service that can take you to the bottom of the chairlift and pick you up later in the day. Nice folks and they try to combine you with others so the ride cost is lower. TaxiCortinaSCI. 338 4889793... More
