From the main entry gate the church is located at the end of the first street on the left. While the outside of the church is not very inspiring the inside is beautiful. Ornate ceilings, beautiful artworks. There is an admission charge.

This church was built in XIV century using stones from Temple of Venus. Very good view from the bell tower.

This wonderful 'Mother Church' is my favourite of the many beautiful churches one can visit for a small fee in Mount Erice. It was constructed in the fourteenth century with a Romanesque exterior. If you arrive in the morning when the clouds are still hanging...More

The castles in Erice don't show much at the moment, but the churches are great and this one together with San Giuliano is probably the nicest.

The church was built in 15th century in the shape of a Latin cross and has a 1420 fresco. I found the exterior most interesting. What a solid substantial structure. The belltower, as was often the situation is separate from the church to avoid vibration...More

This church is also known as Matrice church and has another listing on TA. The inside is much less interesting than the outside and as such I would not recommend paying to see unless you generally like to see any church.

Stunning to see that something so old can look so beautiful and maintained. And so huge that it barely fits the view. Trully beautiful church. Don't miss while in Erice.
