Strange place but interesting.

We found this to be a very interesting place for coffee. We sat in the garden which had trees with elegant dresses hanging on them. Wonderful atmosphere and we'll worth a visit.

This place is so cool to sit down and enjoy a coffee or fresh juice. The settings are somewhere between a traditional old Italian giardino and a story book. The food and drink are delicious made with fresh local produce. I'm returning here on my next trip to Italy to see the attached Frescoes.

What ever happened to the Goddess of Truth? Does anyone know her whereabouts? If so, please share. This vibe opens at 9:30 a.m. and is definitely worth the visit. After climbing the stairs you enter the hall filled with ancient frescoes in various stages of decay. Very interesting to see how the 12 months were viewed. We had both halls... More

Unmissable. What remains of the magnificent frescoes portraying the Este court at play, and a series of horoscope paintings is a delight for the eyes. Spot Duke Borso d'Este among the figures, riding on his horse, meeting the people, out hunting, watching a palio and generally mixing and mingling with his subjects. There are scenes of people working in the... More

The Palazzo has some old and great Frescos but that is about it. Given the number of glowing reviews we had read we expected a little more. If old Fresco's are your thing you'll love it. If not you might feel a little let down.

This 'small' palace, badly damaged by the 2012 earthquake, has some of the most beautiful Renaissance frescoes you'll see anywhere. Right now only two rooms are open, incl. the Salone dei Mesi with the frescoes. These 15th century paintings are unfortunately not in good condition, but what is left is breathtaking. Incredibly expressive faces, fascinating genre scenes, and one big... More

Ferrara is the city of the Este family, the Estensi town. In the Via Savonarola you will find one of their palaces, the Palazzo Schifanoia. It is not as impressive as the big castle in the main square but don't pass up the opportunity of a visit because it houses some of the most interesting and beautiful secular frescoes of... More

Got to see these wonderful frescoes for free with my 2day €10 myFE card. Got stuck here in a thunderstorm so had a good chance to see them well. My advice is get a myFE card and see all the lovely things this town has to offer.

Do not let the walls that are in terrible condition put you off. Although little to see in terms of number of works and size, there is nothing small about these works in terms of impact. This is a place to contemplate some of the finest painting in history. Worth many repeat visits.

This palazzo consists of one large hall covered in frescoes. Good in combination with neighbouring museums on the MyFe card, or for fresco-freaks.
