The ruins of the ancient castle and fortress were an interesting tour. Self-guided, the information plaques were in English and gave vivid descriptions of the items. Unfortunate that the parts already explored are not kept free of native grasses and weeds; which would make visualizing its former glory somewhat easier. The climb of many steps is worth what awaits at... More

It's a hike up from the port but the view and the history make it well worth the effort make sure you go to the top fortress

The Castle of Milazzo is larger than many other similar structures I've visited. It covers the wide top of the hill that separates the two sides of the peninsula. The castle walls are powerful and they are not seriuosly damaged either by the effects of time or by any human activity.

This place was not in our itinerary but was on our way so we thought it would be nice to stop for an hour. The view was OK, the castle was OK, but what it made really special were the people. When we were walking to the castle a gardener just came after us and showed us some plants. When... More

A surprisingly short walk to the castle from the port (looks much further!) 5€ entry and two very nice men in the ticket office who helped me find out where I needed to go after my visit. The duomo inside the castle is worth seeing for the entry cost alone - beautiful and so impressive. Nice walk around and stunning... More

The site is large and has great views of Milazzo on both sides. Many of the buildings are very well restored, but it would need a guided tour to bring it to life. There is very interesting history and architecture here. It could be better maintained: leaflets and chairs from a jazz concert 5 days before our visit still littered... More

There's a walk with a steep Stairs to the Castello. We walked from our hotel which was centrally located but the View was all worthed! I suggest you to visit this place once in Milazzo! Fee is only €5 for adults and they let our 15yr olds to enter for free:)?

The castle is well kept. Unfortunately, very few signs in English explaining the history of the castle. There is a beautiful collection of "carretti siciliani" (Sicilian Carriages) which unfortunately is not open to the public and it can't be visited
