Very cool that these little trains are still moving and kept original from before 1900. The little village up the hill is interesting, has pretty streets, plenty restaurants and enough to see for an afternoon. The 7 euro roundtrip is well worth it!

This was a really neat thing to do if you have some spare time. It goes every hour so don't miss it. Not much was open in the afternoon . I think it's more a dinner spot. But I had a great gelato up there....More

Wonderful place, a must see in Montecatini Terme. The funicular takes to the very top and the view is breathtaking.

Quite an enjoyable ride. Staying outside enjoying the ride was quite an experience. May I suggest one goes late in the evening to enjoy the views both during the day and the night.

My sweetheart and I really enjoyed riding the funiculare up to Montecatini Alto. At the top there is a nice area to sit and appreciate the view. The town was adorable, with a small piazza.

28 E round trip for the 4 of us. Get there early and ride outside for the best views. Great for the kids as it's a steep trip.

Really quaint funicular railway from montecatini terme to Alta - a must do while here- love it- little tip - at night don't stand on the front plate - the headlights attract moths galore hahaha!

We took the Funicolare up to Alto on a recent visit. It was a fun way to get to top with great views.

Took the funicular in the evening so there were not a lot of people and we had plenty of space. A really fun, and probably, the nicest way to go to Montecatini Alto.

Probably a 20-30 minute walk (uphill) but a short taxi hop!

I timed it at 14 minutes. I took a short cut that cut maybe 2 minutes off the typical time.
