Beautiful walk to a beautiful building

The walk to San Biagio from town is almost as beautiful as the sight itself. Well worth the trip - one of my favorite memories from Montepulciano.

A beautiful, majestic and awe inspiring church, recently restored. We have a view of it from our apartment balcony, and it continues to impress. The appraoch from the road is stunning, yet up close, despite its size, it is surprisingly inviting. Inside, impressive in it's dimesions, it's also intimiate. An enigma in many ways. It won't take long to visit,... More

This is a must see while in Montepulciano. There is something special about St. Biagio Temple the moment you walk in. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place. The views from the outside are spectacular. Take many photos

For the last several years when we visited San Biagio, there has been scaffolding on some parts both inside and out. Now, the restoration is finished and we were delighted to see the results! It is beautiful both inside and out and worth the wait. On the afternoon that we visited, it was being decorated for a wedding. How lucky... More

We see this beautiful church from every where in Montepulciano and hear the bells sounding the time. It is nestled in the side of the mountain with the beautiful Tuscan scenery surrounding it. A row of ancient Cyprus trees accent the road into this cathedral.

Suggest parking near the church where there is plenty of space, then walking up the hill to Montepulciano. It is a 20 minute uphill walk, but well worth the effort.

It is a must-see building outside Montepulciano when you are in the region. The church is a Greek cross plan, with a central dome. Wonderful.

We really liked this church. It was very quite the day we visited. It was simple compared to many others than we visited in four weeks in Italy. We enjoyed it because of its simplicity in a beautiful quite location. It was a lovely design. We walked from the top of Montepulciano and it was a lovely walk. Some may... More

Since I saw this church and Montepulciano's surroundings as filming spots in the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun", I had dreamed of driving in Tuscany to visit those charming towns. I could have fulfilled 100% my dream if I had known beforehand about the classical music concert that was being offered by Palazzo Ricci at Tempio di San Bagio the... More
