Il Duomo is a gem in itself. And inside you will find another gem, this chapel enriched by fresco paintings, statues and the beautiful painting Madonna dei Raccomandati by Lippo Memmi.

At this time, the "miracle cloth" is not displayed, and the chapel is restricted for those who wish to pray...you may look at the lovely frescoes inside, but you can't view them close up.

This side chapel in the Duomo is very much worth a visit. It has some confronting frescoes, but the artwork, atmosphere and spiritual experience is moving. The altar cloth is superb!

Inside the Duomo to the left of the altar is this beautiful chapel featuring old frescos ans sculpture. The Corporale was not on display but a private group was participating in a mass there and we were able to celebrate from just outside the gate, a moving experience!

Orvieto wall city is well worth the time to stop. The church is awesome inside and no crowds to get in your way. The paintings on the church wall a breath taking, and plenty of light to get pictures. This church rates as good a any I saw all over Italy. Take your time to visit all the shops around... More
