Unique exterior, but a surprisingly stark interior. Definitely worth seeing if you visit Orvieto. When in Europe, you see many, many cathedrals/churches and they eventually all seem to meld together, but I must say that this particular Duomo is so very unusual that it stands...More

Just as impressive on the outside as it’s cousin in Florence, Orvieto’s duomo strikes one as being almost ascetic by comparison. Until one discovers the two opulent chapels on the side!

One of the most onate buildings in the world. Magnificent fresco masterpieces are featured here. Interesting and beautiful.

There are many catedrals/churches in Umbria & Tuscany, which may compete with Duomo di Orvieto in age and building structure beauty, but ornaments of Orvieto facade (front) to me are definitely #1. Do not miss fresco "Last Judgment" inside !!

A beautiful cathedral inside and out. Such a large church for a relatively small city compared to places like Milan or Florence.

While situated in such a small perch of the town, the Duomo di Orvieto, is a large 14th-century Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary! Signorelli's masterpieces, within the Chapel of the Madonna di San Brizio inside the Duomo, must be...More

The grandeur of this Duomo is not to be missed. Loved the taped organ music playing as we enjoyed or travel group's guided tour of the centuries old frescoes. Unfathomable that such beauty has outlasted centuries of leaders. Magnificence is all around. First Duomo with...More

Has a very similar resemblance of the duomo in Siena, also less crowded. I highly recommend a visit. Some of the chapels were my favorite in the whole area.
