We were the only visitors when we we were there. There are two reconstructed Etruscan tombs, but if the guard does not take the initiative to direct you to the separate rooms and turn on the lights, you will miss them. There are some interesting...More

I know nothing about the Etruscans, but now I've seen a lot of their pottery, and want to learn more. A very helpful guide took us to see two Etruscan tombs with frescoes - we had walked out and missed them until he called us...More

There are some very interesting Etruscan artifacts on display and during my visit, very few people in the museum. I was able to watch the Corpus Domini parade from the balcony of the museum without anyone else there!

The Palazzo Papale is an elegant building built in the 1200's and the interior now hosts the Archeological Museum which has some fantastic Etruscan finds including frescoes from tombs . It is well worth a visit

We did a quick self guided tour through this museum. It had some interesting artifacts and Etruscan pieces. We didn't really know what we were viewing or the significance as we were on our own and the signs were in Italian.

When on holiday, you tend to end up going around a LOT of Duomos, Churches and Museums. This will likely be one of them if you get the Carta Unica. Looking back, it was interesting enough, worth spending 30-45 minutes in, but there wasn't really...More

The museum is small but its collection of Etruscan art is very good with the artifacts coming mostly from the local archaeological digs. The room containing frescoes from a tomb is not lit usually, so the museum staff turn the lights there you have to...More

There are a lot of Etruscan artifacts here, but virtually no signage and certainly not in English. So you wander around looking at objects at random without understanding exactly what they are. Actually a lot have dates, but not any other information, even in Italian.

The museum has some well preserved Etruscan artifacts. Well laid out, interesting and with some English information, but, most is in Italian. My favourite was the jewellery. Included in the Carta Unica and no booking required.

This museum houses numerous specemins of Etruscan artifacts from sites around Orvieto. It must be noted that Orvieto is particularly rich in such finds. They are arranged by site of discovery. Most of the copious explanitory material is in Italian. It is, no doubt, a...More
