This museum was included in our 5 museum visit pass. The ground floor has what seem to be artifacts from the time the Duomo was built. When you go outside, pass through the courtyard and go up a flight of steps where you enter the...More

At the museum sales desk I asked the lady; sharp features; for access to their toilet, urgently. I’m nearing 70. The hard and uncompromising reply was; no. Go to the Torre toilet. I explained that their toilet was closed as a result of limited access...More

We brought friends to view the spectacular Duomo in Orvieto and noticed that for an additional euro we could also visit this small museum tucked right behind the cathedral. That is a great deal so down the hill to the underside of the cathederal we...More

Beautiful frescoes and masterpiece works of art follow the story of the city and the cathedral. So many gorgeous paintings and sculptures and even mosaics to see. They even have a nice little bookstore and information center.

This museum had a number of interesting things to look at, such as the library with the reading monkey or the bronze of the angel fighting the dragon. To me, one icon is much like any other, and religious paintings do kind of merge into...More

The first part is located directly under the Duomo and it is interesting to see the ceilings. The first floor contains papal apartments, with spacious rooms, tall ceilings, now filled with large, beautiful religious works of art and other relics, statues, etc.

This is more of a small art gallery than a museum with most of the subject matter being nudes in either statue or pencil drawings.
