Entry to the Museum is included in your ticket price when you purchase a ticket to the Archaeological Park. It was nice to visit, however most (if not all) of the individual items were described in Italian only. Throughout the museum, there are boards with history provided in both Italian and English. If you buy the €5 guide to the... More

the overview is either vague or missing. We came well informed about what we were about to see and were not disappointed. I suspect that most visitors did not understand what they were seeing. Small items were adequately explained, but there was no real overview of the history, development, and decline of the city.

Visited the museum as part of a guided tour, but to be honest I could have enjoyed wandering through here at my own pace & looking at my choice of exhibits much better. Interesting artefacts but I had to miss many of them to keep up with the tour. Worth a look.

Wonderful! Great artifacts. You will see things you won't see anywhere else and in great conditon. Museum wasn't busy when we were there so we could wander around at our leisure.

This contains many artifacts from the site, removed for preservation. Some fantastic wall paintings, carvings and pottery. The guide book covers both the museum and temples, and inexpensive at €5

Paestum or Poseidonia as the city was originally called, after Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, was founded in the 6th Century BC by Greek settlers and fell under Roman rule in 273 BC. What most people don't realize about Bella Italy, is the many influences of Greece. It is one of my favourite experiences to walk the ruins... More

The museum holds important artifacts from the adjacent temples as well as other archeological finds nearby. I found myself wanting a bit more story or logical organization of the artifacts. That may actually exist if you can read the Italian descriptions. The museum store had English guidebooks for sale if I had wanted to carry another book around. As for... More

the signs are old and worn out, the archeological site is free to walk on and there are no borders. It really should be better maintained!
