The Favare are steam emissions, reaching up to 100°C which come out of cracks in the rock. Near these openings the rock is a rich red brick colour due to the sulphurous anhydride and sulphuric acid emissions. The Favare are located in the Natural Reserve of the Island of Pantelleria. It is a great little hike with some awesome free views of the sea. There is abundant wildlife and flowers that offer some of the best photographs I've taken. The view of the Favare is also magnificent the closer you get to it.
