The Duomo and Museum are part of a combined ticket. You get access to the chapels behind the main altar in the Duomo and the museum which is adjacent and under the cathedral. The museum has many pre-renaissance pieces and well as the original Donatello Pulpit. Some recent acquisitions are also on display. It is good to see the history... More

All the reviews are absolutely right...this is a great place to start your tour of Florence. An almost overwhelming display of beauty at every turn. .....Michaelangelo's Pieta intended for his own tomb but damaged by the artist is as moving as David.

It's wonderful that the one ticket gets you to the Museum, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery, Brunnelleshi's Dome, and the Cathedral--but we didn't have enough time to do it all. We didn't realize that on New Year's Eve everything closes at 3pm. So we spent too much time in the museum and missed going to other spots. Museum was nice.... More

We visited this renovated museum days after it reopened and marvelled at the most incredible collection of works of art on 3 floors. For a €15 ticket you can enjoy Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery of San Giovanni, Brunelleschi's Dome, the Crypt of Santa Reparata inside the Cathedral and this Museum. Certainly the best value we came across in Italy.... More

After two years of closure for remodeling, the Museo dell'Opera dell Duomo reopened in late October 2015. Having been many times in the old museo, we were stunned at how brilliantly the remodeling has been done. All of the rooms are new, the sculptures are bright and clean, and are now arranged so that the visitor can easily see the... More

This museum was recently remodeled with world class care to illustrate an excellent collection in a life sized remake of the original setting. The museum includes a remake of the medieval facade of the Duomo (just outside of the Museum) with the original statues placed in their original niches within the remake. Videos explain in beautiful detail and depth the... More

We visited this museum following its recent renovation and restructuring. It is wonderful and a 'must see'. It is spread over three floors + the Dome terrace at the top from where you get the feeling that you can simply stretch your arms and touch the Dome. You can take children here as there is a safety wall around it... More

I have visited this museum many times over thirty years. It was quiet. Musty. No English and barely advertised. Now it is a modern three floor space with so much to see and fine explanations. Very impressive and professionally presented. Can combine with the cathedral and bapistry.

Don't miss the new Museo dell-Opera dell Duomo. Florence should be proud of the new structure holding some of the great treasures of the Duomo. It is by far one of the most beautiful museums in Florence. The Uffizi should hire the company that redesigned this museum. It is just stunning!

The newly renovated museum is unlike anything else in Florence. It uses film presentations in Italian and English that are really quite informative. The installations are beautiful and often just amazing. The subject is the Duomo, naturally, but the art and architecture associated with this great church are enough to fill many museums.
