it was the best thing I ever did...the beauty you see while walking up those stairs is something you will never see if you drove to Ravello. As you go through the few small towns you will see old churches and homes with a view that is so incredible you never want to go back to a city again. There... More

The Ravello-Minori walk is a must do when visiting the region. Note: While the brochures indicate this is an easy walk, they must be referring to the walk downhill, only. Walking uphill is challenging for most, including those in decent physical shape. One might plan a one-way trip unless you are in very good shape.

This is a lovely walk down from Ravello to Minori - but best done in the morning rather than the afternoon sun. We were staying on Via Della Republica, so getting to the walk was easy for us. We did it first as a practical way to get to Minori in the morning, but actually it is a lovely walk,... More

Someone had suggested taking this walk from Ravello down to Minori and I was so glad I did. The trail starts just to the left of the entrance to Villa Ruffalo. You can get a map from the tourism office in Ravello. You get FANTASTIC views and see a slice of real life for the local inhabitants. We rewarded ourselves... More

Walk down was good, walk up was fantastic, many possible routes so every journey is different. Great views and things to see and people to meet on the way and a good sense of achievement , highlight of my trip to Amalfi !

Having stumbled upon the ancient staircase the previous day at night with the sounds of the Ravello Festival resounding around us, it was a definite must do! Armed the next day with an area map (from the fabulous staff at Hotel Graal), lots of water (even downhill its a big work out for the quads and calves) , sunblock (the... More

We started at the Marmorata Hotel and 1500 stair steps (plus more uphill walking that did not have stairs, just winded up) and 40 minutes later arrived in Ravello. My three kids and my husband were weary but fine; I however, looked like I was going to have a heart-attack. Advice to ANYONE who isn't a runner/cross country teen, DO... More

The path started on SS163 between Marmorata and Minori. It is a LOT of stairs, of uneven height and it was by no means easy for me (at 53 years old but in decent shape). If I were to guess I'd say somewhere around 1500 steps but that's only a guess. It was near 90 degrees F so that factored... More

Set off from Ravello on a very hot and humid day stocked up with plenty of water and a hat. Stopped several times on the way down to take in the lovely views and for a breather. Don't know how long it took us but with my slightly dodgy knees I was glad when the end was near. Had a... More
