'Austere' complex both outside and inside (far from the baroque of the nearby church of San Michele) where exposed stone in typical Romanesque style prevails. The interior consists of three naves with columns supporting arches and is not very bright due to the style.
On the main altar there is the wooden group of the Crucifixion from the Romanesque era while an interesting fresco with some stories of the Creation decorates the dome. Free entry.
The crypt is interesting as is the small cemetery behind the cathedral which is worth spending a few moments there.

Certainly the most important Romanesque monument in Tyrol. Built on the remains of an 8th century religious building, completely rebuilt in 1124. Some valuable works preserved inside such as a 13th century wooden statue and a series of frescoes. Interior with three naves. The exterior immediately captures attention for its perfect Romanesque "simplicity". The notable bell tower was built later, in 1323.
Absolutely worth a visit

Next to a rococo masterpiece this monastic church is surrounded by interesting cemetery. Both date from 1200s near interesting shops and square.

all the priest cared about was talking about politics and refugees!!! not the place to do that!!!
church itself is phenomenal, we just chose the wrong event i guess with a communist priest not sharing his views, but indoctrinating them upon poor people who go there for comfort and faith!

They have two churchs- an old and a newer. One besides the other. Both beautiful. The painting of the new one are really pretty.
The town is beautiful. So, a walk around is highly recommended. We loved it.

INteresting church, especially impressive from outside. Kind of city landmark as you can see it from all parts of old town.

I totaly agreed that the church is the best one when we are talking about the early Roman church in the east Alps. Altar so simple and beautiful and on the way back do not missed magnificient choir with organs.
Interesting and very old stylish one is also the old graveyard arround the church.
If you need some drinking water take it super clean from the nearby fountain. Its Just before you will enter to the church and graveyard.

Interesting stone carvings, a crypt and the original wooden medical carving of a kingly Jesus on the cross, standing on the head of Adam
