The fort is good to see. Archeological remains are interesting. The view of city and the Bay from TOP is great. Well worth the climb up.

Ok. So you take a site with a great potential and leave it be. I understand that you will not improve industrial neighborhood that sort of wastes 1/3 of the view. But there are dozens of ways to make tourists flock and admire both the fortress itself and remaining 2/3 of the great view. Which is not the case here.... More

Massive! It was a nice day when we visited so we lunched at the available vendors on site, walked around, had a couple of drinks then explored some more :) Need good walking shoes because of uneven surface,

It is quite hard to find a well preserved medieval fort this big. It is a pleasant visit with a great view of Savona. Mid way to the top of the fort stop at the caffe for a drink.

When we arrived in Savona at the train station, the town didn't look very promising. But once we walked in we found many interesting buildings and some nice shops. The Fortezza was one place were very impressed with. If you are ok with a climb and steps then you get some wonderful views. There was some information at the entrance... More

For children this would be a great place to visit, plenty of space to hide, to climb, and to run around. But for a walk on the castle on your own or as a couple, it is as nice, too. Wonderful view to the sea and the city. They have a museum inside, we didn't visit, as it was too... More

When exploring this well-preserved fortress allow at least a couple of hours to truly see not only the fort but the magnificent views of the surrounding city. I would consider this as a "must see" place to visit in Savona and an easy walk from the port area to its entrance.

The restructuring of the fortress in the recent years gave a new aspect to this place and a lot of event are organize. A walking through the fortress is very interesting for the panorama but for the History too.
