Beautiful historical sight, worth visiting at least outside. The current appearance of the Fortress dates back to the Renaissance period: it was built between 1476 and 1482 by Giovanni Della Rovere, nominated Lord of Senigallia and Vicar of Mondavio by Pope Sisto IV, who was at the time his uncle Francesco Della Rovere. Now it’s a museum that hosts different kinds of exhibitions. Very picturesque!

Ancient fortress now an attraction and art gallery. Very helpful signage in several languages. Some of the rooms also display contemporary art displays. Good adaptive reuse. Worth a visit.

I visit regularly Senigallia, it is a touristic city which attracts (beside the Italians) a lot of Dutch, German, French and British tourist . This means that you will find a large porsion of the local shops that speak English and a lot of English signs. I must say that we pass and spend time around the Rocca and the square right in front of it. BTW, the square and the dry moat are a great place for kids and animals to take a break from a hot summer day in the city. The Della Rovere family which build the Rocca have also had a Pope, this can give you an idea of the importance of the family, of the city and of the Rocca. To visit the inside you need to pay about 2 to 4 Euro depending on age and they have audio guides in multiple languages, but if you read english each paiting and exibit has a good explanation in writing. The furniture is almost gone (also cosider that in the middle ages there wasn't much to beggin) but it is worth a visit if you re in town.
