Well preserved and maintained medieval fort with excellent presentation of local history throughout the centuries. Nearby parking is for residents. Best to park in one of the main city parking lots in the lower city and ride the escalator or moving walkways that will take...More

I went as part of a tour group interested in tasting food of the region. We had the long Italian lunch and were more than satisfied. Food was very tasty and interesting.

An extremely well renovated fortress. You actually experience what it must have been like to be here hundreds of years ago. We walked where popes walked and lived. The views are also spectacular. I am not a sightseer; I prefer a good hike. But this...More

We did not enter but we walked around of his perimeter and the view was amazing, you can see all the city from that hight. There is an elevator that can bring you to the top from the parking!

It is quite a climb up to the top of the hill just to get to the elevator to take you up again to the entrance to then climb more stairs....but it is all soooooo worth it!

I can't say much more than the title, really. You need to go there to appreciate the history behind this place. I kept running over to windows to look at the views, which can't have changed much for zillions of years.

If you are walking all the way up to the Duomo, a very short distance is this stunning edifice. Even if you don't want to walk through, take the time to soak in the views and take some great photos. Highly recommended to visit.

The architecture is the one of the fortified buildings of the past, and also the Popes, that were the elected kings of the central Italy, visited it several times. In the area dedicated to their accommodation there is even the ... toilet (wc). The exhibition...More
