We've been here six times just to have the privilege of entering an ancient reminder of the glories of Italy, and the art that infused everyday life then. The mosaic floors are amazingly contemporary, the craftsmanship exquisite, the frescoed walls proof that beauty is a...More

What you can see is interesting, and beautiful in the arrangements of the floors, unfortunately not much is left although excavation and restoration works are still underway and more could be unearthed. The structure of the house is clear, and together with the decorations of...More

The mosaic floors in the Villa are very well restaurated and give a glimpse of the grandour that once must have prevailed here. It's not very large but on the other hand one of the better Villas I've seen.

Well, it was painstakingly reconstructed, but it is nothing special comparing to other roman remains around Italy. If you have the museum card it will be a nice short visit.

We see a lot of extreme homes of the wealthy on television each week but just what did it mean to be rich in Roman times? The remains of this home give us a small glimpse into such a lifestyle . Lots of rooms of...More

This partially excavated Roman home might have been used by someone in Caligula’s family, or just by some rich Roman. What remains are some of the ground floor rooms…most with almost intact mosaic floors. Amazingly you can walk on them, just as Romans did 19...More
