Brunnenburg is an extraordinary place--not least because of its grand vistas and vineyard-girded presence in Tirolo/Dorf Tirol, perhaps the most picturesque of villages in South Tirol: Its educational mission is equally wondrous: Where else in the world can one learn of both historical and cultural agricultural sustainability in a thirteenth-century castle as well as learn what sustains the human soul,... The outside is beautiful, but to pay 10€ for 2 adults and 1 child is not worth it, unless you are interested in ancient agriculture.

This is not an exhibition up to modern big budget standards, It is an old-fashioned display of agricultural tools in an old castle. Charming, but not overwhelming.

The family works hard to preserve the character and culture of South Tyrol, showing the various implements and innovations that made mountain agriculture possible. The castle itself is still a home, so you'll only see parts of the actual building, but the farm itself is kept in practice (as much as possible) with sustainable and traditional farming.

The family who runs this museum are exceptional people who have carefully put together a museum in their home. Ask to go see Mira. Restored castle from 1200s.

You can see all the way up the valley to mountains located in Austria on a clear day, but the museum itself was a bit disappointing. The castle is properly huge and forbidding.
