Nothing special. Compared to the other marine reserves we visited it turned out to be below expectations. The seabed is initially pebbly, but after a short while it becomes sandy. We didn't find the crystal clear water we were hoping for. San Nicola beach is much better.

Beautiful but not spectacular!
Maybe it wasn't an exceptional day but the Punta Aderci beach we liked but not too much!
Small path of 10 minutes to reach the beach, if you want you can take a shuttle that costs 2 euros per person and runs every 15 minutes to get there and back!
Cute

We went to this reserve by bike because on foot it was too far to reach; in some places, however, the bike had to be held by hand for the various ups and downs. We bathed near the overflow, at that time under renovation: clear water with small fish near the rocks. Molto suggestivo!

We rented bikes in Marina di San Vito and took the Via Verde to Punta Aderci beach (tot ~56km a/r). The last stretch is not paved and the mountain bike would be ideal, however, with a little attention I also found myself well with the walking bike.
Once you reach the top of the promontory, you will be enchanted by nature, the sea, the wind. A show not to be missed.

The reserve was a pleasant surprise .. we came vast for two GG to escape from the city
And I didn't know this part of the coast
The sea is blue the sand and clear behind is the green hills with sand dunes and wild vegetation
Next door there is a very convenient bike path especially there is not much tourism and a relaxing place at least in the week

Punta Aderci is a protected area close to Vasto and it is one of the top beaches in Italy and the most famous in Abruzzo.
The landscape is breathtaking, the water crystalline, there is a "trabocco" that is a platform used anciently by fishers, a little cave in front of the see and two beaches, separated by the "punta aderci" that is a headland, the beaches are called aderci and penna beach, it is a truly nice place to go snorkeling.
There are numerous trails, here you can enjoy trekking, cycling, and horse riding.

Went for a walk there in October 2011 and really enjoyed it. Trabocco is spectacular, same as views towards Vasto and Fossacessia from the Punta. Good parking facilities, lovely walk, although bit steep going down to the beach. Lots to explore - wildlife, bird watching, snorkelling. Take a picnic with you and make a day out of it, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy crystal clear water, nice views and tranquillity!

What a magical place! We spent the afternoon on the beach, walking around. The water was really warm and the views were spectacular!

The Regional Natural Reserve of Punta Aderci was created in 1998 and spans 5 Km from Punta Penna to the mouth of Sinello river further North. The reserve is a quiet, peaceful and undeveloped area with beaches, cliffs, grassland, and other vegetation, trabocchi (a trabocco is an old wooden fishing machine found on the Adriatic coast in this region). access to the Reserve and its beaches and trails are totally free; however, there are no services in the Reserve except at the entrance of Punta Penna opposite the parking where you can find showers, toilets, and drinking water.
I visited by the Punta Penna entrance and walked the 1 Km road to the belvedere near the sea where you have amazing and stunning views of the sea, beaches, and trabocco. When I visited there was also a bus service for those unable to walk to the belvedere (cost: 1 Euro).

Writing about my visit to Punta Aderci is rather frustrating: been there on a dry sunny day in March 2019 with my wife and kids. At a first glance we've been raped by the astonishing landscape of green fields ending up at the feet of Majella. However, as soon as we reached the beach for a picnic, the impression turned out AWFUL: bunches of rubbish washed by the sea on the (otherwise beautiful) stoney beach. Plastic cans, bottles, tarr, fishing debris and any other sort of riff raff around. Being a natural reserve, we would rather expect somebody to take care of the place; all the rubbish was clearly laying on the beach from months instead. I can't imagine how the place could be considered a natural reserve. People don't really deserve such kinda paradises.

Salve a tutti. Vorrei visitare la riserva con un neonato. Quanto è fattibile? C'è molto da camminare dal parcheggio?
Ovviamente andremmo in tardo pomeriggio... ci piacerebbe vedere il tramonto. Grazie

Ci sono posti selvaggi in cui dormire, no campeggi con animazione, no divertimentifici...!
Written May 16, 2021
Penso proprio di no e comunque ho letto un articolo che diceva che c'era stato un incendio pochi giorni fa.

La Riserva è accessibile in sedia a rotelle? Grazie!
Written September 12, 2019
