We were on our way back to the hotel by the sea when we passed this old round church. We stopped to take a closer look. It is beautiful and feels very low when you are inside. It was originally build around 1100 so it...More

We walked from Gudhjem to the Osterlars Rundkirke. It was a lovely walk along the coast and then through farmland to the church. The church is lovely and has a cute gift shop and small cafe. We walked back through the forest and saw a...More

Very interesting church. Good for a short visit. We spend about 30 minutes there. Entrance Fee is 10 DKR per Person. There are some info cards giving some key facts on the church. There are some informational boards on the top level - unfortunately they...More

Make sure you climb the stairs to the top. The frescoes where very pretty. And check out the wagon they used as a hearse.

It is still a functional church today, the building is well preserved, and the largest amount the four in Bornholm. If you only have time for one, this is it. A DKK10 fee is imposed, and it is worth it. There are some token English...More

This structure (they're still not sure exactly what it started off as) is so beautiful. You can go up very narrow stairs to look out into the country side.

Very peaceful church, and can be relaxed here. I like the area around the church, a big wheat field~ Really recommend to go there

The Church is small, but very beautiful. Today we visited it and a ceremony was going on. I knew priest was being reinstated by the Bishop. That was so cool to witness! At the church itself- definitely worth going to take a look at.. :)

It was bigger and a lot more impressing then I thought it would be from the pictures. When you get up close to it in reality you realize what a remarkable achievement it was to build something so large out of stone at this stage...More

One of the must visits when on Bornholm, it's the largest of the ones on the island - entry is 10DKK - and I highly recommend making the climb up to the round roof. The stairs are uneven and a bit steep but if I...More

If you stay at Gudhjem (in my opinion the most charming town on the island) you can even hire a bike and bike to the round church. It's not far, and there is a special path for bikers. In fact, the island of Bornholm is... More
