I drove this about 20 years ago on my motorcycle and have wanted to return ever sense. Its a 40+ mile stretch of road that is barely wide enough for two cars, is completely covered with trees for much of it, and offers some of...More

I'm sure this would be a beautiful drive in the fall. Lots of trees, winding road. Lots of houses to look at but no where to pull off to get views of the lake when there is a view.

I live in a rural area and can think of a half dozen streets with as many trees as this one. Road is also very windy and narrow - 2 cars can barely pass each other. Many spots overlooking the lake but local residents have...More

Expected more, but would still do it again. Do it with an open mind and relax and enjoy the drive. We did it in a small class A RV with no trouble ( despite some advice from others).

We started at the north end at Cross Village and drove south. Some very beautiful totally covered wooded roadway - for miles!. Pay attention to the highway sing - lots of curves and you can see around then due to the dense trees. Wished it...More

Visited 4th of July weekend. I've always wanted to take the drive so we spent Sunday doing just that. Beautiful drive along the shoreline. The road twists and turns through the woods for 20 miles and it's a nice, leisurely drive. There are some nice,...More

A pretty drive, but a little overrated in my opinion. Maybe a fall drive is a lot prettier than a June drive through? I was more sad about how many trees were down and how many lots for sale. Pretty soon, this will no longer...More

If you are in this area of Michigan, you should either drive through the Tunnel of Trees north to have lunch at Leg's Inn in Grove Village or have lunch there and drive south to the beautiful towns on Lake Michigan. But the 20 mile...More

Not sure about information center, not that I recall? There are some cute shops to stop at along the way, plus a winery as well.

The leaves were just starting to change when we were there. I bet the peak time would be this week.
