    An amazing experience!
Amazing!! We visited as a family of 7 with 2 young children and had the most amazing experience. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and obviously cared greatly for the animals. We made food for the two female elephants and then took them for a walk, before feeding them. They were then able to wander off and graze and paddle in a nearby stream without us. We then walked with them and paddled in shallow water to wash them and cool down. When we got back we were then given a lovely pad thai and fresh watermelon. I would definitely recommend this sanctuary to anyone wanting a respectful, fun and memorable experience.

    Great experience
A wonderful experience. Truly a caring and loving family towards the elephants. We made medicine, we washed them, we fed them. A truly once in a lifetime experience. This family treat the elephants as family which is what me and my fiancée looked into. The trainees were wonderful towards the elephants and us! Really recommend this beautiful sanctuary.

    Exceptional elephant sanctuary
Visiting Doi Elephant Sanctuary was an unforgettable experience during our trip to Thailand. After extensive research, we chose this sanctuary for its commitment to humane treatment of elephants, and we were not disappointed. From feeding and walking alongside these magnificent creatures to helping bathe them, every moment was filled with awe and respect. The staff's dedication was evident throughout, making our time there truly exceptional. If you're looking for an ethical and rewarding elephant encounter, look no further than Doi Elephant Sanctuary. Highly recommended!

    Really recommend going here!
It was a really nice experience and I recommend to go there. Both the staff and elephants were really kind. We started the day with making food for the elephant. Then we got to go on a walk with one of the elephants and also feed her. We ended the stay with a lunch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    The best day.
Perfect sanctuary to spend the day in Thailand, the guides are professional and very friendly, they explain the entire history of the elephants. You make food for the elephants and then you feed them, then you bathe with them and it is an unforgettable and very beautiful experience. I will go again without a doubt.

    Authentic, beautiful experience, lovely elephants!
On visiting Chiang Mai we were desperate to visit an elephant sanctuary and thanks to a chance encounter with “Uncle P” at the train station, we were signposted to this beautiful location, there were just 4 of us all morning and we got to spend time with 3 beautiful elephants in even more beautiful surroundings, this place is not advertised much or has links to any tourist company so relies on word of mouth this offers a small and authentic experience. If you are looking for a family orientated, beautiful spot to spend lots of time with elephants away from the tourists this is the place for you, we were then even treated to home cooked pad Thai to end the day! Also the pricing is very good for the experience! Please visit to help support these beautiful elephants and the family who have taken them in to protect them from harsh treatment.

    An unforgettable experience
We had an amazing day at this rescue centre. Our guides were so friendly and knowledgeable and treat the animals with such respect and care. We were able to prepare the elephants food, feed them, bring them on a walk and bathe them. It was an unforgettable experience being so close to these gentle giants. The centre is not well advertised but relies heavily on tourists support to rescue these beautiful animals from previously abusive conditions. I couldn’t recommend this experience enough!

I was looking for a smaller ethical elephant sanctuary, and was recommended this one by another traveller. And I am so happy I went there! Since it’s not very advertised I wouldn’t have known about it unless it got recommended to me. But the experience was great! I was there for half a day, and got picked up in the morning from Chiang Mai. We were only three tourists that day. We prepared food and medicine for the three elephants, then we could feed them and walk with them through the field. The elephants seemed really happy, and they are also free to go where they want in the sanctuary, they are never tied up. Everyone who worked there were so nice and they really care for the elephants. We also helped giving the elephants a bath, and then we had lunch before they drove us back to Chiang Mai. Will absolutely recommend this to anyone, especially if you want to avoid big tourist crowds.
