If you visit here wear something warm as it was absolutely freezing in there to the point of me shivering, thankfully a friend put a cardigan over my shoulders and we were in there for about 30 minutes. So this could spoil your interest.

We were both grateful for the opportunity to visit this most holy and resilient 12th Century Abbey. The architecture and solemnity are noteworthy.

We had a private tour of Heiligenkreuz Abbey when visiting Vienna. It is a real working Monastery so we saw monks throughout it. The history is rich with tradition. Worthwhile to visit!

We have visited as part of an organised tour, which I would not actually recommend as it was very rushed, however the monks are an active community who are giving tours too and are probably more knowledgeable than our guide was. At lunch there was...More

A beautiful monastery, combining almost 1000 years of different architecture. Famous for it's choir.

As I know it is not. You have to join the tour group and 6 people is the minimum. We will drive to visit that place ourselves.
