This is actually a museum of Richmond, the horse museum is just part of it. The museum is placed in the old school house and run by one volunteer - but he was very helpful and full of information about the Town.

Although Richmond is an obvious strategic mid point on the N1, it is worth researching its historical differences, and deciding how many hours to spend there. The Museum is the focal point for that, and its neighbours demonstrate the friendly atmosphere. Check the date of the annual literary festival.
