It was a hot day at 32oC but we climbed up and rewarded ourselves at the top with a cold drink at a pictureqsque café. There is a pretty church and narrow, winding streets around the citadel. Very atmospheric and some fabulous views can be...More

For many years my family and I have been coming to Calvi. One of must sees is the Citadel! Beautifull view, amazing architecture and always young and fresh. Every time the Citadel removes one more veil and increases my dillema is it better to visit...More

Such an elegant building with smooth walls and tiny windows. So Medieval in style and simply graceful in essence.

We enjoyed a number of walks around the citadel at all times of the day. Sunset was spectacular. On one of the evenings, we bought tickets for the Corsican band l'Alba which had its concert in the church of the citadel. Magical experience!

A must see but a lot of climbing. Lovely views with many small shops and places to eat.The foreign legion display is particularly informative.

Well worth exploring the little alleyways. Some beautifully located restaurants in the citadel with great sea views. The church is lovely.
