We enjoyed spending an hour in this old mansion that looks as though the owners just went out to church. All furniture is in perfect state and one really gets a feel of what life was like in the olden days

I did enjoy it, really I did but to say it was crammed full, every single room of it, was an understatement! I did so wish that more of the paintings had names on them so you knew who they were. The furniture was fascinating...More

Great history, lots of artifacts, great accessible location. Overall, an excellent introduction to noble medieval life in Sarlat.

I really enjoyed walking thru this place, BUT the current owner has put so much stuff into the rooms I found it distracting. Just too many things, in Fact our hotel in a building of the same vintage was done better.More

Our hostess recommended this place for us and we found it quite charming. A pleasant relief from stuffy museums, the most interesting was the recreation of the "curiosity rooms" with interesting finds from all over the world.

From the outside this looks like a pretty insignificant building, but once inside - wow! It shows how the other half lived. The rooms are packed full of interesting things, furniture etc.

So glad we visited this home. It was occupied by a Dr and his family until 2010. Then opened as a museum in 2011. It is beautifully furnished with examples of clothing worn in the time period.
