Clearly marked swimming areas, water quality, waste management… you will know it all !

With water that reaches 23ºC in the height of summer, it is a privileged spot for families who seek plenty of space and safety.

It is also a good choice for novice and seasoned surfers in search of sensations.

The beach attendants propose facilities such as tent and deckchair hire and beach clubs for children.

The beach of Hendaye offers bathing water quality A for several years.

I love this beach

Long promenade for an invigorating walk. Discretion of buildings. Not pretentious, thank god for that. Easily accesible.

Was not expecting such a nice, long beach with soft sand (depending on the lighting) beautiful blue water! It is really enormous so it doesn't feel crowded even when there are a lot of people. Also, you will be very close to nice restaurants with delicious seafood. The showers were also a nice touch! We stayed in Hondarribbia and it... More

I enjoyed my time here, the waves actually got to 6 foot high at one stage, the beach is fine, as is the fresh sea air, very nice on a hot day, but unpleasant on a cold one, still there is plenty to do in the area, Hope this has been of some hrlp for you...

We'd never heard of Hendaye and, if you're not a surfer or a local, you've probably likewise not heard of it. However, if you're exploring Basque country and want to find a stunning beach, more than a mile long, this is it. Plenty of walkers, dogs, couples young and old, campers, cyclists, dudes and kids; though so spread out you... More

The is one of the best beaches where i was. It is really amazing . There is a lot of space and for sure everyone will find some place. The conditions for surfers are good also and you can find a lot of them surfing on the waves.

This is a great beach for relaxing and soaking up the sun. It is also an awesome beach for walking or running. The sand is very fine and it is remarkably clean. The beach is shallow and good for kids and families. It is also pet friendly. I'm not a surfer but I did enjoy watching the surfers and I... More

It's a nice beach and I like the mountain view. Too cold in winter except if you have a wet suit. You can also take a ferry to Fontarrabie.

Although it can get crowded in the middle section, towards the ends you can find more space for paddling, sand castle building and the like. There are several different types of shell that get washed up so beach-combers have something to look out for. The waves are not too strong which makes this a good, safe beach for children. There... I´ve been there this August while doing my St. James´ route and it was really crowded. The area in general is very beautiful and people were very nice, but I would not choose it for my holidays. Go there anyway cuz you would have plenty of other places to visit around.
