Superb little museum to go back in time from the Hedouens to Anne de France. Superb pieces, paintings, sculptures, antique jewelry...a day for 5 euros. With armchairs to relax. Very nice experience. THANKS

I found the museum to be thoughtfully laid out and the rather random collection of items (stone tools, ancient pottery, Egyptian mummy and sarcophagus, sculptures, religious icons, items from the history of the Duchy of Bourbon, and paintings, among other things) that were displayed interesting. It helps if one reads French, though, as most, if not all, the explanations were in French.
This summer (2019) is a special exhibit of the work of renowned portraitist Marcellin Desboutin, which added to the experience.
Particular effort has been made to include activities in most of the rooms that would interest children, linked to the exhibits in that room.
All in all, I would say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the museum.

The musueum is not very large, but with interesting expositions and fine works of art; one can visit at a leisurely pace withhout getting exhausted.

An interesting collection of artefacts and pictures with no obvious core theme, but a place to happily spend some time as the range of exhibits is so wide there's something for everyone!
The gallery had a few guide leaflets to look at with details about the paintings, all in French. A few more and some on other languages expecially English would enhance the experience.
More of a fill-in place to see than a primary objective whilst in Moulins, in my opinion, but still worth while.

The entrance to this museum is purchased in tandem with that of the contiguous Maison Mantin.
The Museum has some attractive medieval sculptures.
The paintings room is instantly forgettable.

Well displayed, well labelled collection ranging from egyptian mummies to 18th & 19th art and local faience. The current exhibition of artifacts from the Cluny Museum in Paris features statues, tapistries (but not the Lady and the Unicorn) and gold ware. Great!

The city of Moulins is very lucky to have this small museum of the Louvre available. Much smaller of course, but with very beautiful works of art.

"Treasures of the Baroque"
exposure upstairs, impossible for people with motor disabilities,
lack of functional and even... designed accessibility;
Both French and European legislation not respected and applied,
yet laws and decrees have existed for several decades.
What a shame!

Interesting testimony of a bourgeois house in a provincial town with facilities ahead of its time
The reconstruction has been cured
