Very nice construction for a small city like Nevers. It was built in XIII century but destroyed partially during last WWII. However the architecture remains impressive and your mind recall Notre Dame of Paris or the DUomo of Milan as the style is very similar.A...More

The Cathedral which is, in fact, a Roman Catholic Church is dedicated to St. Cyricus and St. Julitta. This is a national monument worth visiting. The architectural style of this Cathedral is Romnisque and Gothic.

This church is so beautiful with cut glasses windows . It was burned down in WW2 and rebuilt and still not finished renovation until now ! We spend an hour walking around and so many histories to tell by the guide .

The intensity of the modern glass windows detracts from the interior and casts it in a strange light. We were not fans of the glass at all.

Over the last decade we visited this cathedral many times, fifth or sixth time? I lost count. Very beautiful stained glass windows, which cause nicely coloured spots of light which move through the space when time passes.

The history of this place is very compelling from a stopping point on the way to the hundred years war with Joan of Arc to the religious wars of the 16th century. Only part of this huge structure still remains after it's tumultuous history but...More

The Cathedral was restored after it was accidentally destroyed by RAF bombers attacking the nearby railway. The cathedral now offers a great example of both roman and gothic architecture. During the restoration, the stained glass windows were replaced with beautiful modern windows. The bright colours...More

Lovely Cathedral, architecture was fantastic and the replacement stained glass windows are awesome, very modern. It was good to see photos of the damage caused during the wars, I would've liked to have seen more history as it was just one plaque. There was scaffolding...More
