Little bit of history

Les vestiges, or the remains of the Chateau de Roissy-en-France are in a park in the village. Not much remains to be seen, actually very little but it's a little bit of history.

We booked a Grand Circle cruise on the Seine from Honfleur to Paris. Upon arriving at Charles DeGaulle airport, we were booked by the tour company into a Novotel hotel in Roissy-en-France near the airport. Within view of the planes taking off, we found a quaint and beautifully kept little village with shops and restaurants that had managed to survive... More

Beautiful and relaxing park! After travelling from Rome (Italy) via Beauvais Airport, a few minutes strolling at this quaint green oasis will surely be relaxing.

The site is small but still gives a history of the area and the architecture. Most of the structure is gone and has been encroached upon by residences but it still shows some local history.

It's a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the airport and surrounding areas. Tranquil, beautiful and full of colour. Nice to have a walk around and take time out. Worth a visit if you're staying in a nearby hotel before a flight

While at your airport village hotel and tired of the future through its boring promises you walk down the nice village of roissy-en-france to the "chateau" and get a sweet-and-sour taste of the past.

The park is a wonderful resource if you must spend your night near the airport--makes you feel you are still in France and still on vacation, not just waiting out the time to go home.

The important thing is that the mayor did not pull it down to build up another hotel. The remains of the castle is a simple and single ruine (a gate). The rest of the area is full of hotels. Marriott, Novotel, Marcure, etc.
