I am captivated by this castle. Having spent a summer of visiting quite a few castles and having visited many in recent years, I'd say this is possibly the most beautiful, and certainly the most unspoilt; there's still ivy growing on the walls in some parts,...More

We recently to Manorbier Castle, where they seemed to be setting up for a wedding as a massive marquee took up most of the space. I was most excited about looking in the crypt, however this was basically being used as storage for a wedding....More

Had tea in the cafe then a stroll round the castle. Enjoyable couple of hours for all the family. Including climbing to the top of the tower.

Such a beautiful castle but some of our views were restricted by the huge wedding teepee that had been erected there. However this paled in comparison the the ruse member of staff you had working in the cafe/shop. She was rude and you can tell...More

There is not much to see a basic castle but there are very nice views from the top and you can climb right up , it's only £5 to get in so worth it if you are around

I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers are expecting in a castle that's been standing for almost 900 years. It's not a set for Game of Thrones or a theme park it's an authentic romantic ruin with amazing views in a brilliant location....More

I remember Manorbier from the days of my children when they were youngsters - rolling down the grass slopes of the castle and eagerly exploring the ramparts and towers. Then it was down to the beach - we practically lived there for a week. Returning,...More

Looks unmissable, largely un-ruined and looming over a quaint village, between a wooded valley, an old church and a lovely beach, near a rural railway station. Couldn't be more Famous Five if it tried. The disappointing reality is that visitors are clearly extraneous to a...More

From the outside the castle looks quite large, but once inside you will find that it is relatively small. On the other hand what is there, is in good condition. There are a number of rooms which have been realistically decorated/furnished. For instance there is...More

They have a good website with open and closed dates but it only goes to the end of September so far. There is a phone number and email address. You had better check as it is a popular wedding site.

Oooh, there is a lot of outdoor and it is below the village towards the beach, a pretty exposed spot. In wet weather the steps on the spiral staircases could also be tricky. The café is small with only very few places... More
