Having stumbled upon this castle in 2016 I finally achieved my wish to spend Christmas and New Year in a castle. Although my intention was a castle in Scotland this castle proved more than anything I could ever have hoped for as it was magical,mystical...More

There are so many castles around here. Well worth visiting. They are so much more angular than English castles.

It was a rainy day, but we still enjoyed exploring the nooks and crannies and climbing the twisty steps up the towers. Not a good place if you can’t climb steep staircases but we really enjoyed it. The cafe also was lovely for lunch afterwards....More

This was one castle I'd never heard of, which I find disappointing, because it is one of the better ones. It's the birthplace and the legendary Gerald of Wales, and much is still standing. It has a good history and whilst it takes some finding,...More

We had a lovely time here. It's a "pretty" venue which holds weddings. There is a small café where we enjoyed refreshments. There are quite a few steep steps, but it is compact so fairly easy to get around. Worth a visit

Great Castle to explore. This is a partial ruin, but there is many areas that gives you great views and a sense of what life was life. This site is not for individuals with physical disabilities or limitations. It is must see site.

They have a good website with open and closed dates but it only goes to the end of September so far. There is a phone number and email address. You had better check as it is a popular wedding site.

Oooh, there is a lot of outdoor and it is below the village towards the beach, a pretty exposed spot. In wet weather the steps on the spiral staircases could also be tricky. The café is small with only very few places... More
