An 18th century palace

Liselund is a Romantic garden with palace, small buildings and garden monuments. It was laid out at the end of the 18th century as a country home for Antoine and Lisa de la Calmette. Liselund's neoclassical palace was erected in 1792 by the architect Andreas Kirkerup. The well-preserved interior is thought to have been decorated and furnished by the leading interior architect of the time, court decorator Joseph Chr. Lillie. Liselund is a rare preserved whole - from its large garden to the smallest piece of furniture. Liselund neoclassical palace is located in beautiful surroundings on Mon, close to the sea. Enjoy a picnic in the romantic landscaped garden or take a tour of the small neoclassical palace built in 1792. Liselund neoclassical palace is open for tours from May to September.

The garden is open all year round and admission is free. Free Wi-fi is also available when the palace is open.

A Beautiful place to explore- next visit we will stay there. The landscaped garden is fantastic to explore. The small slot is very beautifully kept. Next visit we will stay a few nights and have their set dinner menu as it looks delicious and Is organic. Their philosophy is very admirable and they are custodians of a very interesting home.

Liselund is a cute small castle located in a wood with a small lake and a lawn. There is really not very much to see or do here. OK to spend 10 minutes if you pass by but not a place to go for.

The only palace in Denmark with a thatched roof and beautiful sculpted gardens are a romantic testament to Antoine de la Calmettes love of his wife. The gardens are nestled at the tip of the famous cliffs of Møn which are constantly being eroded by the Baltic sea. One hundred years ago, one third of the gardens collapsed into the... More

Worth a visit. It is marbolous to stroll around in the park and enjoy the ducks and other birds as well as all the fine plants and trees. Also the old buildings are nice. The old castle can only be seen from the outside, unless you come and join special guided tours on a couple of weekdays (visit their website... More

The visit is food for your soul. We spent 2 hours at the place. We heard the peacock, saw snakes, fish and mussels at the lake. The mansions are as a fairytale.

Off the beaten track, we would not have known about this had not a Danish friend recommended it. It's not well sign-posted. Beautiful park and gardens with historical houses (can't go in) and great for walking and very photogenic. Worth combining as a visit with Mons Klint (nearby).
