The High highlight of our trip

This is a very stylish solution to a difficult road routing problem - best of largely French design and engineering. Worth a detour for anyone with an interest in the subjects.

took a road trip from UK down to Millau to see and use the viaduct. Not disappointed. It is spectacular if you are interested in engineering feats. Not much else to say. At the end of the day it is a big, high motorway bridge but it is a spectacular one.

Made a point of this being on our to-do list on our motorcycle trip through France. Stopped at the visitor centre just before the bridge and walked up to the top of the hill at the view point. Didn't go into the visitor centre itself, but parked in the carpark, which has plenty of ample parking and toilets etc if... More

Having seen the Top Gear Lads drive over this stunning structure I had to see it for myself. I have travelled on this road long before the town of Millau was by passed and that itself was a slow and tedious journey on the way to the sun or on the way back. The bridge is probably best viewed from... More

This was an experience, although I ran a perpetual detour in France - and France is huge - so this was clearly worth seeing. That this vast and wonderful creation has been placed midway between the country's beautiful mountains and valleys are amazing. Not only is it a bridge, but it is a work of art and a pride of... Crossed this bridge must be 8 or 9 times now and it still amazes the senses! Stop at the Millau services for more information and a wonderful view of the stunning construction. British designed I believe!

My first visit was back in 2015 which was very nerve racking as I'm afraid of heights!! I had to drive over en-route to Spain through France from U.K. I done my research on google (and read reviews on here) and it didn't fail to disappoint. Seeing this bridge from afar was amazing, but driving across it was an unbelievable... More

You can approach it from several methods/ways to get the full effect. In our case we came into Millau from the south and thus there is an observation point half way down into Millau. Then we left Millau and went to the museum for another view. As you leave the museum you can take a very small and sometimes dirt... More

the viaduc of Millau is a real chef d'oeuvre it's a huge impressive structure of a suspended bridge between 2 big hills near the gorges du Tarn the view is overwhelming and the city of Millau is old and very interesting it's the capital of manufacturing of gloves with narrow old streets and a new commercial center.
