The temporary exhibition "Le chateau de Versailles en 100 chefs-d'oeuvre" is truly splendid. I realize how much we can gain when a work of art is observed in a less overloaded setting. It is not the same admiring a beautiful statue that share the space with few other pieces instead of placing the same statue in a room cramped with... More

This is in the Abbe St Vast, adjacent to the cathedral, within easy walking distance of the town centre. Not very well signed, we got into the huge modern library that shares the building first. Admission is 10E, so we expected lots to see. There was a special exhibition recreating Versailles, which was very good, but apart from that, very... More

A spectacular exhibition on loan from Versailles 'Arras Vous Fait La Cour' presenting great insight especially into the water engineering to create and build all the fountains which, at that time were revolutionary, forcing architects and engineers to think and calculate in ways that had never been done before, all for artistic achievement.

This is an excellent small museum located in a huge old monastery. When we visited, there was a special exhibition of treasures from Versailles which really added to the good collection of paintings and scultures that are part of the permanent collection. One room full of HUGE paintings was very interesting as I had never seen so many immense paintings... More

Older museum in nice building. Not memorable. Better you visit the Louvre-Lens if you're in the area.

Excellent exhibition there from Versailles. Take time out and enjoy this beautifully presented travelling exhibition without having to travel all the way to Paris.

Although the lighting in some of the galleries was right awful, overall we enjoyed most exhibits. Particularly the special exhibits on Versailles. The building itself (an abbey) is worth a visit, but a range of sculptures and paintings is extensive so take your time.

The Museum is part of the well named vast complex of Saint Vaste and definitely worth a visit. On entering you will see the original lion from the bell tower which is displayed in the foyer. The first section shows you the effects of the war on the building with interesting displays showing the ruination and rebuilding project including some... More

The current exhibition of pieces from Versailles is bot beautiful and informative. the pieces have been presented in such a way as to give the 'feel' of Versailles - stunning.
