This striking abbey rises starkly from the flat land around it. When you enter, it is like walking backward in time. It has a very medieval flavor and also encompasses a charming representation of modern restaurants and souvenir stores. Prepare yourself for a challenging climb.

If you are Catholic, you may want to make it a point to come here for the noon mass during the week. Even if you're not Catholic, you will appreciate the ethereal voices of the nuns who sing the order of the mass.

Everyone should visit this amazing place once in a lifetime. Historically pearl place in the ocean, with lots of beautiful view.

Walked the causeway to the Abbaye and the views were excellent. Be aware that you will be in narrow walkways with many commercial shops and restaurants. The walk through the Abbaye was a wonderful experience.

I was in France on business with four colleagues and we decided to visit this place. It is on an island so you have to park and take a bus out to the island. It is absolutely spectacular. Unfortunately, we did not arrive in time...More

You can Google tide schedule, as it changes daily, but on a lunar calendar. The steps are somewhat steep, but anyone can do it, so long as they take their time. I am unsure on tickets prices, but they may have a website to... More

You don't need a ticket to visit the island; however, you do need one to visit the Abbey.
