If you chance a Sunday morning in Amiens, the cathedral service in welcoming. The memorial plaque to the Australian soldiers for their role in saving Amiens during WW1 is on right hand side.

We visited this cathedral on a very hot day, it was peaceful inside and quite cool which was also a nice relief! there were a number photos of its construction and ones of it through both wars with explanations in English

We visited the cathedral today and we were both amazed by its size and spectacular architecture. The carvings are brilliant, don't forget your binoculars for the windows! The picture is of the compass on the tiled floor

There is a tour that takes you up there and you need to check with the ticket office and shop to the immediate left of the Cathedral. Google Amiens cathedral Tours for more. Don't miss it.

We were staying in Amines and got the train to Paris for a day it's very easy to do. So yes would be easy for you from Paris to Amines
