Colin picked up us each day from our accommodation at the Best Western Hotel a few minutes from Amiens Station which was so convenient. We did a three day tour with him although the first day was with Lisa. We had a great day with Lisa and she was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and she found my... More

Colin is full of knowledge of all the major battles and battlefields from many years of gathering knowledge - particularly regarding the Australian involvement. I was following my father's involvement and Colin did his best to help me connect the dots. Located the Railway cutting where D Coy 35th Bn gathered to launch counter attack April 4th 1918.

It's taken me a while to write up this tour (I went on it way back in 2009) but I don't want to let it go unrecognised as it was, without question, an excellent tour. The company enabled us to join in for 3 days of what was a longer tour, picking us up at Amiens station and then arranging... More

A day trip with Colin Gillard through the Somme battlefields is something every Australian should experience if in this area. His passionately delivered information and knowledge is something we have never experienced. 'Do yourself a favour' and book a trip. He focuses on any WW1 or 2 battlefields and the history surrounding them.

My wife's grandfather fought in the Somme area during WW1 1918 in the AIF and with the help of our excellent guide Colin, we visited many of the places his Battalion fought. We were lucky enough to be the only two on the tour that particular day, so Colin went out of his way to make the day all about... More

On Sunday, 5th June my wife, Christine, our two good friends Denise and Paul and myself spent a day in the expert company of Colin Gillard. Our tour was British based. Colin took us to the sites we requested seeing and much more and his knowledge of this period of history is immense. He is a friendly and genuine chap... More

We chose a one day tour and Lisa was very helpful in designing a day that included locations that we wanted to visit - particularly cemeteries where our relations lie. It was the most wicked of days: blowing a gale, driving freezing rain and a maximum temperature of 3C...... it was hard to be enthusiastic! We managed to visit all... More

We have just finished a 5 day French Battlefields Tour of The Somme and Normandy areas. Colin clearly loves his work, nothing is too much trouble and the information and knowledge of his work is amazing. He tailored our tour to suit a relative we wanted to visit, taking us everywhere he probably went, etc. A lifetime experience to treasure... More

We were picked up at Hotel Grand Univers in Amiens by Colin Gillard from Cobbers Australian Battlefield Tours on Friday morning and set off to see cemeteries that were just places that we'd heard about from books and ANZAC Day marches,. We saw so much over the next three days and heard so many details of events that took place... More
