We have been to some other First World War museums and I particularly rate the museum in Meaux. But this museum presents things in a slightly different way and provides clear and concise information to explain both the war and the significance of the exhibits....More

This was a fantastic museum but it left me a little puzzled! I couldn’t fault the exhibits, the way it was laid out or the trilingual explanations. The film using period footage was fascinating and I found I didn’t need the French commentary and the...More

This is a nice small museum that gives a good background to WWI - and includes a lot of interesting artifacts, such as posters, film clips and uniforms and soldiers' kits. We visited the day before we went to the museum at the Thiepval Memorial...More

We visited, having been previously 15 years ago. The exhibits are well presented but something a little more interactive and engaging would really help hold the interests of the teenagers and children we brought. The bookshop used to have a good stock of English speaking...More

This relatively new addition to the WW1 Museum listings is welcome and different. The perspective is very much person/community based. Clever use is made of uniform/ artefacts to illustrate the rapid development of the soldier's kit through the first years of war. An astonishing collection...More

A very interesting museum set out in a very novel way. This is well worth the visit. The displays and the interactive descriptions are very good. There is also a little cafe and shop on the site.

WW1 epotimises the struggles the French peoples endured from the invading German Armies. The Australians assisted the French in many towns nearby such as Pozieres where my grandfather was stationed between July 1916-1918

We visited this museum prior to visiting some of the battlefield sites on The Somme. It's a modern building constructed next to a medieval castle which makes it quite a unique setting. There are some interesting exhibits laid out in quite a novel manner. Definitely...More

After visiting several museums and battlefields, there is not a lot of different material in this museum. We did enjoy seeing some of the videos about life during occupation and life after the war.
